The most expensive move in the history of the sport of football happened last summer when winger Gareth Bale joined Spanish giants Real Madrid for a reported £100m. Now though, the Daily Star are one of a number of media outlets continuing to report that the Welsh wizard could be set to leave Santiago Bernabeu.

Manchester United have been heavily linked to Bale who thrived in his first season with Los Blancos but now it is said that Real Madrid want Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and to do that, they must sell Bale. Gareth Bale is 25-years-old and has netted 22 times in 39 La Liga showings since his move to the continent and has led his country’s charge for a Euro 2016 place, representing Wales on 48 occasions, scoring 14.

Bale began his career with Southampton in their prestigious academy and graduated to the first team. Bale played 40 league matches for the Saints and quickly became a hot prospect with Spurs purchasing him in May 2007 for an initial £5m plus add ons. Whilst Bale struggled to make an impact at first, he emerged as one of the biggest talents in British football and in 2012/13 scored 21 times in 33 Premier League appearances.

Gareth Bale earned his mega money move to Real Madrid after 203 Tottenham games in all competitions, netting 55 times. Carlo Ancelotti saw him as a key figure but now is willing to move the Welsh international on to get his target of Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard.

Manchester United fans, do you genuinely think Louis Van Gaal can attract Gareth Bale?
